- Full Arch Replacement
In cases where a patient is missing several teeth, dental implants can provide a natural looking and functioning solution either as a full arch replacement or as an over-denture. The patient is fully assessed for suitability and the final result allows them to chew, bite and talk as normal and restores the appearance of their smile.

Dental implants are suitable if the patient’s gums are in good enough condition and they have not lost too much bone tissue. If they are an otherwise suitable candidate but the bone has atrophied, we can explore bone-growth techniques whilst the patient has a transitionary restoration, which can be followed by a permanent one once the jawbone and gums are in optimal condition for integration with the dental implants. In some cases we may have to remove other teeth that are damaged but in others the implant can be fitted the same day.
Implant Over-dentures.
The term ‘implant over-denture’ refers to a type of denture that is affixed to the implants to give maximum stability. It still looks discreet and can be used as part of a full arch replacement to restore ease and comfort of functioning. If your patient has been struggling to adapt to new dentures and finds them loose despite all efforts, this can present with a frustrating situation for dentists and patients alike! In such cases we would be very happy to discuss implant-retained dentures as an option.
